In 2001, my brother Tom and I started scanning old magazine ads. For what? Tom was going to put a database together focusing on Vintage Advertising from the 1920's through the 1970's. Tom is the computer database geek, and I was the scanning artist geek. Together, we collaborated on TJS Labs Gallery of Graphic Design . 

 

In 2003, I decided to take these ads and use their fantastic images on merchandise. The Kitsch Bitsch Store was born. After designing and designing and getting nowhere fast, I needed to figure out a way to promote my products. I joined Facebook in 2008 to meet up with old friends and family. Then in 2012 Facebook developed pages! VOILA! A way to promote my products and get sales! As I promoted I thought ... 'I need more content'.

 

I then started showing ads that my brother and I had scanned and added silly captions to get more likes. After many years, that became the only kind of post I created, with the occasional promotion for my merchandise. In 2012, Facebook launched the share button and the rest is history. Fast forward to 2019, The Kitsch Bitsch Facebook page has almost 160,000 fans and is affording me many new opportunities that couldn't be possible without those fans.

The Kitsch Bitsch, is a fifteen year journey that has brought us to this place. Goodness knows where we go next! And, I say "WE" because none of this would be possible without YOU, the fans!
